Do you take female poker players seriously online and at live games? I ask that question because a woman just won the European Poker Tour at Dortmund. While watching the final table I noticed the guys try to gang up on her. For example when she would make a decent raise someone would always try to push her all-in.

Personally, I try not to change my tactics. In a game like Poker, everyone is equal – the only difference is the size of your stack of chips.

Allowing myself to get unsettled just because I’m playing against a woman would give them an advantage. You don’t want to do that.

My style is based on what my oponent(s) is doing, not who or what they look like.

if i kno they’re not good like girls i hang out wit, i would take advantage

I take all opponets seriously unless i have reason to beleive they are a serious fish. So does my play change? No absolutley not, the game is meant to be played equally rather playing vs a woman, a 90 year old person, or a 4 year old at a home game. Ok well home games are a little different but not much. They may have been ganging up on her because they felt she was weak well i guess she proved them wrong.

i would say if anything id play opposite that i know this is an untrue statement for a lot of female players but im gonna say it anyways the majority of women players play tighter and more str8 forward than men. This is definitely a generalization ive played very aggressive ones but if they seem tight i think you should often play them with caution and if they play back at you just let go of your hand unless they prove you otherwise

so would i change my play probably depending on what they are showing but i would often give them more respect when they raise

women don’t belong in the poker room unless they”re hookers looking for work

No – if they were ganging up on her it was probably because they sensed she was weak when she made those type raises and not because she was a woman.

Some players might play more aggressively when playing against women but changing your play based on the fact your opponent is a woman is wrong in my opinion, well when you play at the most popular poker sites like Pokerstars anyway
