Samuel Jones asked:

If I were to join an online poker site and play for money while I was 17, but saying that I was 18, how much trouble would I get in if they found out. They have my name, SSN, and my Debit card number. Will they just kick me off or will there be more serious consequences? Thanks.

hon, why would you even consider that? you’re too young to waste your money that way. be smart now before it’s too late.
and they’re trouble anyway

Most likely your account will be discontinued anything you won or had to pay would be lost and then your IP address would be known so no one else would be able to create the account on the site.
And in reality they could ban you from the site from good once you turned 18 but I fully doubt any legal charges would be pressed.

my sister played in the casinos and she got cot and they took her to jail

How do they have your SS #?

I don’t remember them ever asking for that…

But they could just freeze your account, if you are lucky they’d let you withdraw your money, but they wouldn’t have to do that either.

You won’t be prosecuted legally, they will deactivate your account and you will not receive any of your winnings.

the serious consequence is that you will never see your winnings and learn not to cheat with your details:))

They would close your account and keep any money you deposited and/or won, including money you won AFTER you turned 18.

Just chill out and wait until you’re 18. It’s not that far away.

There are no legal consequences since they don’t care about that anyway. In fact the only reason why this is a requirement is due to membership requirements in gaming associations and the like. Some sites care about this more than others and may request your ID, some before you get cleared to play and some only when you make a withdrawal. I would find out what the requirements are and if you need the ID then wait until you’re I8. I doubt they will backcheck this although they could. I wouldn’t put any more money in there until 18.
